Hutt Valley Tramping Club is a very active club in the Wellington region tending to cater to more adventurous types who in addition to tramping might like to go mountain climbing, cycling or any of a number of other outdoor activities.

Tararua Tramping Club (TTC)


The oldest tramping club in the world (probably because everyone else calls them camping clubs) and the largest in the Wellington region. TTC is known for organising safe tramping trips for all levels and abilities.

Club Nights

Tuesday is the regular club night. Meetings are held in the clubrooms in Moncrieff Street, off Elizabeth Street, off Kent Terrace. TTC welcome new faces at meetings, and there are always club members available to provide newcomers with information and any answer questions they may have.

Victoria University Tramping Club (VUWTC)


THIS WAS THE CLUB THAT INTRODUCED ME TO MY LIFE LONG OBSESSION. Easily the most hip club in Wellington catering to the younger trampers. The second oldest tramping club in the world and able to hold their own against the mainstream clubs. While they are a student club they accept memberships from the uneducated masses.

Club Nights

Meetings were held every Tuesday at 7.30pm in Meeting Rooms 1 & 2 in the Student Union Building at Victoria University. Come along to find out what's going on, catch up with everyone and partake in the inspired activities!
