Searches are case insensitive so searching for Kaka, kaka or KAKA will return the same results regardless of whats in the search or on the actual page. If you have more then one word in the search you will get all pages with at least one of the search words so searching for 'kaka tawa' will bring up any pages with either kaka or tawa included.

You can refine the search by adding the following characters to the front of each word:
  • A leading plus sign indicates that this word must be present in each row that is returned so for example '+kaka tawa' will return every page with kaka and optionally tawa.
  • A leading minus sign indicates that this word must not be present in any of the rows that are returned so for example 'kaka -tawa' will return every page with kaka in it where tawa isn't also included.

In addition you can search for wildcards using the, * symbol so searching for Kaka* will find everything starting with kaka whereas *Kaka will find everything ending with Kaka.

A minor grumble is the search used by ignores any search words with three characters or less such as Tui which is @#$%^&* inconvenient. design and content by Matthew Ravlich, copyright (c) 2009
